I saw them again after 8 years.
My schoolgirl crush on Jakob Dylan never left.

Posted in Uncategorized on April 15, 2009 by creenzI find myself returning to these albums time and time again, and every time, I feel that they are underappreciated.

I think it’s that production style of the late 70′s/80′s that turns people off. I’ve recently come to appreciate/love Leonard Cohen, and I’ve found that to be true a lot of people wth him. I’ll admit, it does take a while to get past it, but the merit is there and it’s well worth working for.
New York
Posted in Uncategorized on April 4, 2009 by creenzFirst post for a while. I’ve been busy; Model UN, social life, school (HA!) what have you.
I just got back from New York. I’m in love. In New York, the world is at your fingertips. Everything, every type of person, in one city. Whatever your niche, there’s a place for you in New York. Such a large portion of the population of the city is people who came there because they were passionate about something. The result of this is a city full of genuine and facinating people. For someone who loves people as much as I do, and someone so thirsty for information, this is pure brilliance. Not to mention an ashetic feast. A sea of inspiration for any artist. I love it. truely.
What I learned this winter.

there is no “better.” there is only “different.”
“in all people I see myself, none more and not one a barleycorn less/and the good or bad I say of myself I say of them” -Walt Whitman
“I like pigs. Dogs look up to us. Cats look down on us. Pigs treat us as equals.” -Winston Churchill
isn’t that what were all looking for in a fellow human-being; just someone to look us in the eyes and treat us as their equal? Isn’t the absence of this quality the source of most human suffering?
The key word is respect. Be yourself but in a way that is respectful of others. Disagree but do not dismiss without consideration. Offer advice to a person rather than demanding them to change. It makes your life and the lives of those around you much simpler and often happier.
Do unto others as you would have others do unto you.
It truly is the golden rule and I do my best to live by it.
I just don’t know what to do with myself…
Posted in Uncategorized on February 14, 2009 by creenzMy life is in a sort of in-between stage. It’s annoying as hell and I just want out but there’s really nothing I can do but wait. I have so much work to do and no motivation. I have so many possibilities but I’m so indecisive that I waste all my time deciding what to do. This world was not made for a mind like mine.
Sometimes, other people can express my thoughts better than I can.

All who have meditated on the art of governing mankind have been convinced that the fate of empires depends on the education of youth.

You must learn day by day, year by year, to broaden your horizon. The more things you love, the more you are interested in, the more you enjoy, the more you are indignant about, the more you have left when anything happens.
